This gathering already happened. It’s here as memory — join an upcoming one.
August on this coast is not subtle. The gulf is a bath. Henderson’s parking lot fills early. We still went. We still sat until the lifeguards packed up, then walked HarborWalk until the boats were just lights. Someone danced who does not dance. The weekend did what weekends are for. It is on the board so the next one has a ghost to live up to.
How the days go
That Friday
HarborWalk, late. The group found itself.
That Saturday
Henderson Beach until the light went gold. Picnic sunset — no fire; the park has rules and we kept them.
That Sunday
Coffee. Reluctance. The drive.
Who it’s for
It already happened. The people who were there know.
What to bring
- Nothing now — except a reason to come to the next one
Meet point
It was Henderson’s dune walkover, then the harbor.
