November on the Emerald Coast is underrated. Highs often sit in the low seventies. The water has cooled but the light is honey. We take Friday to arrive — Miramar Beach is the stretch just east of Destin, same sugar sand, a slightly different rhythm. Saturday is the point: a gulf morning, then a long afternoon table. Everyone brings a dish or a drink. It is Friendsgiving, not a catering demo. Saturday night, if legs remain, HarborWalk. Sunday is leftovers and a last walk. Bring a sweater and whoever you call chosen family.
How the days go
Friday
Arrive Miramar Beach / Destin. Grocery run for whatever the table is still missing. A short walk on the sand if you landed before dark.
Saturday morning
Beach. November gulf — cooler, often still beautiful. Then home to cook.
Saturday afternoon into night
The table. Potluck Friendsgiving. No assigned seating. After: HarborWalk lights, or a legal fire pit if the house has one — open beach fires are often restricted here.
Sunday
Leftovers. A last walk. Soft goodbyes.
Who it’s for
Chosen family. People far from their own Thanksgiving. Anyone who would rather set a table than book a restaurant for the performance of a holiday.
